Donor Advised Fund

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a giving solution facilitated by a public charity that allows individuals to contribute cash or appreciated assets while receiving an immediate tax benefit. These contributions are then invested, growing tax-free, and can later be directed as grants to eligible nonprofit organizations—such as Rahbar Foundation—at the donor’s recommendation.

Why Choose a Donor Advised Fund?

1. Instant Tax Benefits
Contributions made to a DAF are eligible for a tax deduction in the same year. If you're donating appreciated assets, you can also avoid capital gains taxes, making your gift more impactful.

2. Tax-Exempt Investment Growth
Funds within your DAF can be invested and grow over time without being taxed, potentially increasing the amount you’ll be able to grant to charitable causes.

3. Strategic and Flexible Giving
You don’t need to decide right away where to allocate your donations. A DAF allows you to plan and distribute grants to your preferred nonprofits—such as Rahbar Foundation—whenever you're ready.

4. Simplified Record-Keeping
Using a DAF can streamline your tax filing by consolidating your charitable contributions into one record, which reduces paperwork and simplifies your finances.

While Donor Advised Funds provide excellent tax planning advantages, they may not be ideal for every donor. We recommend speaking with a tax advisor to assess how a DAF aligns with your personal and philanthropic goals.
